The Halfway Mark

Amy O’Brien is a prominent television reporter known for asking the tough questions on camera. When she asks one in contract negotiations, Amy finds herself abruptly fired, and the career that defined her collapses overnight. Midlife and unemployed, Amy throws herself into investigating a medical device for chronic pain seeking FDA approval – convinced the story can restore her identity. But, there’s one complication: the biotech behind the treatment is run by her college friend’s husband. As the investigation pulls Amy deeper, troubling details surface. When the device clears its final regulatory hurdle, Amy is forced to confront the limits of certainty – in science, healthcare, and friendship. How much is she willing to risk for a story?
